Cyclones and Christmas

I have had a brilliant Christmas. It's a wonder that Santa didn't break our balcony when he landed on it with all the weight of my pressies. I got so many presents including a skateboard, football, magic set, games for the pool, books, games, cricket set, remote control cars, transformers and the Wonkey Donkey book and CD. Plus we had so much food. My favourite was the sticky date pudding mum made. Mum and Dad agreed and it's all gone. I am still trying to master the sketeboard and dad took lots of photos and videos of my many attempts. Dad reckons I'm pretty good but I still need to do some work before I can go to the Skateboard Park.

Mum and dad had a great time too. Although I am not sure what dad was doing running running around so much on Christmas Eve, He said it was something to do with the cyclone. He should have listened to me as there was no way that Santa would have allowed a cyclone to hit us. I was right and Cyclone Grant was a complete fizzer as far as we were concerned. Now Dad's grumpy as he has to undo his cyclone clean up and empty the shed again. Meanwhile I'll stay out of his way and practice my skateboarding

Bigger Holiday

We all went to Canberra. I had bucket loads of fun over the four days we were there. We did not stop. We arrived on Friday night in the pouring and cold rain for a wedding the next day. Meredith who made my a crown collage for my christening got married to Paul. Fortunately the rain stopped and they were able to get married on their property just outside Canberra. Paul growns wine grapes so it was a perfect place to have a merry time. The best bit of the wedding was catching yabbies in the dams.
The next day we caught up with my aunites (Lyn and Judy) and cousins (Kirsty and Mitch) plus lots of my family who I hadn't see for ages. We had a great time in the hotel swimming pool although it took half an hour before dad got in - said it was too cold - wooss. We then went back out to the property where the wedding was and caught more yabbies.
On Monday, dad and I went to Questacon which is a science museum. It was brilliant. We saw the lightling machine, stood in the earthquake house and did all sorts of experiments. I even got to drive a space rocket. The best bit was the roller-coaster simulator which we went on twice. Dad said the scariest bit was the guilotile simulator - I didn't go on that one.
We also caught up with Marianne, Dan and Luke that night and I played hide and seek in the cupboards.
On Tuesday we went and bought christmas decorations from a barn outside Canberra. It was brilliant. Mum thought so too as she won't tell dad how much she spent. We then caught up with even more friends - Mark and Jennifer and Noah and Riley, who I used to play with when I was a kid.
Anyway, we're back home now and I am off to school today. Mum and dad don't want to go back to work but they need to make money so we can have holidays more often.

Mini Holiday

I've been on school holidays this week. Dad took some time off as well and we all went down to Lake Bennett for a couple of days. We hired a cabin on the lake which was brilliant. It even had canoes which mum, dad and I went in for a paddle around the lake. Dad said he was tired after the fourth go but that's because no-one else was paddling. On Saturday, Greg and Sandy came down. We all went for a swim in the lake. I was the furthest out as dad said I would make good croc bait, whatever that is. Sandy and mum looked after me while Greg and dad put plastic chairs in the lake so they could sit and drink beer at the same time. Dad said he should patent the idea.

Centre Stage

Tonight was my school concert. My Transition class did Rockin' Robin and I was right at the very front and right in the middle. I was certainly in the spotlight and centre stage! Mum and dad said that I was a real star from go to woe! Unlike at last years Christmas concert where I impersonated a statue, I really put everything into this performance and sang and danced my little heart out. Mum and dad are so proud of me! For reference I am just to the left of the shoulder of the lady standing up and blocking everyones view. Dad's reached 50 and is at the stage where he doesn't give a .. .. what people think so told her to sit down. Dad even got thanked from other parents and says it's great being 50 and being perfectly happy about being a grumpy B#$%#!

Sleep, spiders and teddys

Dad took some really aweful photos of me sleeping last night. I think it's my right to sleep how I want and wear what I want to bed without being ridiculed. If I want to sleep on the floor with a pink superhero mask on, that's my prerogative!!

Today was also the day of the Teddy Bear's picnic. Mum and I spent ages lining up to get a spider drawn on my face. I think it looks cool, but mum was not impressed about lining up for 20 minutes.

Birthdays and Camping

We have had a fun week. I am still on school holidays and last weekend was Mum's birthday (Still 38!!). We went into the Crowne Plaza and had a brilliant time. My favourite part was watching Rio on the in-house movies - it's about a bird that can't fly. Mum and Dad liked the pub, the massages and the meals. Mum took the rest of the week off and we did lots of great things such as going to the Darwin Show. I got a show bag and a kite, which Dad and I flew when we went camping this weekend. We went to Litchfield National Park and we did lots of walks to the Cascades, Sandy Creek Falls and Wangi Falls. Dad drove through lots and lots of water with signs saying 'Beware Crocodiles.' Fortunately Dad didn't stall the engine otherwise mum would have had to push the car and would probably been eaten by a Croc. Dad says he has never seen me so dirty - I had the best time ever! Off to fly my kite again.

It's been another busy week. This week I had my sportsday. I am in Litchfield house which is Green. Our team came second. I ran in the 50 metre race, but didn't do very well as Dad distracted me by waving just as we started the race. By the time I had finished waving back the others had already started. Thanks Dad! When Dad went back to work I did much better in the hopping with water race and I came second.

We have had a long weekend this weekend. It's the Queens birthday so we all celebrated by going camping in Litchfield National Park. We are in the middle of a cold spell and we froze each night. Mum and I were packed and ready to come home today before Dad had even had a coffee. It's going to be even colder tonight - down to 12C and only up to 25C tomorrow. We have been wearing jumpers and jeans until midday the last few days and I didn't take my trousers off all day today.

Photos attached of me at my sports day, camping and looking cool in my baseball cap.

My Birthday

Today I turned 5 years old and mum and dad feel ten years older after my party. The day started with presents from the family. Mum and dad got me a brand new go fast red bike and Auntil Janet got me a scooter. Then we had my party. I had friends from school and friends I have known for ages. Mum and dad organised a bouncy castle which also had a water slide and pool which was really cool. Then we had pass the parcel and a pinata which dad broke because he hit it too hard. My cake was really brilliants and everyone enjoyed it including the parents. I now have so many presents to go through once mum and dad get off the lounge and start speaking again.

Chocolate Heaven

Today is Easter Sunday, better known as Easter Egg Day. Last night the Easter Bunny brought lots and lots of Easter Eggs. So many in fact that I had to invite my friends around to help collect them all. We had 11 kids and 11 adults around for breakfast. Dad did a barbie with bacon, sausages and egges. We had a great time lookintg for the eggs and only took 30 seconds to find all the egss that the 'Bunny' took ages to hide. We also had a colouring in competition (Sean won) and played with lots of my toys. Mum and dad have had a very quiet afternoon although I think they may find it difficult putting me to bed tonight!

Happy Birthday Dad

It was Dad's 50th Birthday last week and we celebrated by going to Adelaide. We stayed with mum and dad's friends, Ronnie and Chris and my friends Buba J and Tayla who live on a farm/property in the Adelaide Hills. We had a fantastic time and did lots of brilliant things.

Everything was great although I wasn't too sure about the Alpacas when I was feeding them (Dad forgot the camera that day). I really enjoyed catching up with Greg and Sandy who surprised Dad by walking into the pub where we were having lunch on his birthday. They are on their way back to Darwin from Victoria after having six months off.

I also really enjoyed feeding the sheep at Tayla and Bubba J's place and coming down the hill on a billy cart. Dad broke he wheel on the cart which killed off any further fun on the hill. Everyone suggested it happened because Dad is too fat.

We also spent some time in a nice hotel in Adelaide and went down to Glenelg on the tram. I had lots of fun on the bungy jumpy thingy.

Back home again now and still have one day of scholl holidays left. Back to school on Monday
