Cyclone, What Cyclone?

Dad came back early from work today and mum finished at lunchtime. I was also told that I did not have to go to school. Dad spent ages last night getting all the loose items that were outside into the house. I thought he was bringing them in for me to sit on, but no. We are in the middle of a cyclone (Cyclone Carlos) which has been hovering around Darwin for the last 24 hours and has brought about half a metre of rain in just over 24 hours. We are all very wet. Dad has been to the shops to stock up on essentials - Who knew red wine was an essential item? Don't know what the fuss is all about - I still have TV. Dad's about to go into the loft again as he says we have a leak, not that I'm bothered.

Starting School

Today I started school. My teacher Miss Eriksen says that I am the King of the Puzzles as I did mine very fast. She also says that I have 'ants in my pants,' but they weren't there when I checked. There were the usual first day tears - Not from me but from mum and dad! I am in a class with my friends Chester and Sean who I was at pre-school with last year when I was a little kid.

Happy New Year

We are back from our long holiday in England (and Singapore) which we had over Christmas and New Year.

We stayed with Auntie Janet and Uncle Ali in Reading as well as renting a cottage in the Cotswolds. We got snowed in!! I loved playing in the snow but mum and dad said the novelty wore off after a couple of days. Dad and I built a snowman outside our cottage and had snowball fights - mum stayed indoors in the warmth. We had some friends vist whilst we were there but some couldn't make it because of the snow. However, we did catch up with them later and I had great fun making leaf angels and hiding in the piles of leaves with Sam and Ben.

We also went to Exeter and I sat in an igloo - I bet I am the only one in my class who's ever done that.

I don't know which was my favourite part as there were so many to choose from - I went on a double decker bus ride in Singapore and Oxford, had a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine, went to see my cousin's show (Thriller) on the West End of London, visited Hamley's Toy Shop in London, took a trip on a train to Windsor to see the castle, went to a bird park and saw penguins which were really cool, decorated Auntie Janet's Christmas Tree, played postman on Christmas day, played with my little cousins - Roxy-Coco and Lila-Belle, went and saw dad's football team and bought a football, went on a boat ride up and down the Singapore River and went to a pantomime.

I think I liked the snow best!!

My Christmas Concert

On Wednesday, my Pre-School had it's Christmas concert. It was brilliant. We all got dressed up in Santa hats and we had to wear the T shirts we decorated this term. Mine had a Christmas tree on it. The best bit though was when Santa himself arrived and brought all us kids presents. I didn't think I was going to get one because mine was last to come out of Santa's sack. I sat very quietly - mum and dad said they have never seen me so patient. I got a book about a pet dragon. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Good to be back

Well it's seems like ages since I last wrote on the blog. We are now into the 'build up' at the start of the wet season and we are not doing as much as we did during 'the dry.' We have been spring cleaning and getting the garden straight and other mundane things. However, mum and dad keep saying that the reindeer are coming soon and coming each night to check up on me, but I think it is just a plan to get me to go to sleep. Good news - I am starting 'Transition' in January - big school here I come. No more childcare or pre-school - yippee.

Tomorrow I have show and tell at pre-school - I took photos of mum and dad's cars tonight to show my fellow pupils. Dad took a photo of me sitting on his car.

Anyway, here are some photos of me looking cute in various places, including on dad's car.

Great Weekend

This weekend has been really great. Dad took Friday off and we all went into a hotel in the City for two nights. We had a brilliant time. Mum and dad both had a massage. We started by having breakfast at our favourite cafe, Cafe Central in Nightcliff. We then had Vietnamese for lunch and then Sushi for dinner. We didn't go out so much on Saturday to eat as dad didn't want to end up looking like Buddha. We spent lots of time swimming in the hotel pool and I managed to swim the width of the pool all by myself. People in the spa thought it was great that I kept pushing the bubbles button.

We are at home now and I am back to pre-school tomorrow. Dad is taking me and picking me up - I suspect he's taking Monday off as well but not telling me.

Last week, mum and dad went to see Mrs Gore, my teacher. They were very pleasantly surprised by my progress although they have to practice throwing the ball straight to me and I have to pratice holding my pencil better and hopping across the room. They were even more surprised when Mrs Gore said that I am moving into transition in January - Yippee, big school at last!!

Ice Cream Treat

Mum and dad took for for an ice-cream this afternoon at the Darwin Waterfront. It's dad's turn to put me to sleep !!
We've had a different sort of weekend. Yesterday dad went to watch the twenty-20 cricket in a hospitality suite while mum and I went and had a coffee at our coffee shop. Mum fell down the stairs and gashed her leg open but won't go to the doctors.

My photography is improving and dad has attached the photo which I took down the Waterfront. Mum and dad say it's really good. I also took a great phot of the water bubbler.
